Boho d'Hiver & Look Vintage.

Dress, necklace and bracelet : *c/o Look Vintage / Kimono : *c/o Telltale Hearts

Maxi dresses are something.
I dreamed in front of street-style snaps, thinking that maxi dresses couldn't suit me. However, Lord knows how strongly I wanted to own one. I know we musn't judge until we tried : it isn't because something is different and not - yet - incorporated in our style that we have to denigrate it.
And a day, not a long time ago, I received a parcel. I unwrapped the violet paper and suddenly I've been filled by happiness when I saw this dress from Look Vintage. Immediatly, I fell in love. Timeless, soft, wearable both in winter and summer; the dream dress. Two jewels accompanied it. I haven't hesitated one second to combine all these new garments; I'm in the mood for boho styles these days, I couldn't imagine a better combo.
As a second hand hunter, this store is a bargain to find treasures. Like a "real" secondhand shop, there's no place for uniformity; each single piece is unique. It's what I love the most in the secondhand universe, it's a different way to consume, more ethical in my opinion. I think it became more important, especially nowadays, to think and eventually change our way to buy.
Fortunately, in our world where massive productions and clothes for clones reign supreme, there are some oasis as Look Vintage which propose difference and exclusiveness.
Are you accustomed to secondhand stores ? Or do you prefer to shop in the big clothing companies ?

  3. I'm constantly told that I shouldn't wear them because I'm so short. But I own 2 lovely ones and I don't care. As for shopping, I buy in charity shops and if I go to the high street, it tends to be in cheap shops or in the sales of big shops. I advise you try swapping, that is the best way to consume without being unethical

    1. Aah, yeah, never listen to people ! It's great to wear them even if you're short, it's not an excuse : long dresses are not meant to be wearable only by tall persons. I'm sure it really fits you ! Never we should avoid to wear something we like because of people thoughts.
Yep, there are also good bargains in sales, but never I will put the price on something from big companies, it's even not a true quality.
Swapping is a very good idea; I do that with some friends, then it makes everyone happy !

  4. amazing pictures, this dressi s a masterpiece! I also love to buy in secondhand stores rather than in huge shopping malls... it looks like everyone is just a copy of another person, there is no creativity nor individualism. In second hands I can find brilliant, unique pieces in very low prize (which is important to me because I can't afford buying expensive clothes) and there is almost always a story behind particular piece of clothing.

Yep price is also a very important point about secondhand; I wouldn't have the quarter of my wardrobe if I had to buy in malls.
It makes me sad to see everyone dressed in the same way... Some people don't care, I can understand them, but they miss a way to express themselves and to show their personnality.
I like to imagine story about secondhand clothes... you never know which life they had before :-)

  7. Everything about this outfit has a soft, easy vibe and it looks amazing! Personally, I shop more often in chain retail stores because I have more of those stores within my vicinity but whenever I can, I try to make a few trips to some secondhand stores because some of those clothes turn out to be really nice.

Oh I had the same "problem" before, there was not a single secondhand store next to my place, I had to go in H&M and stuff... Now I feel happy to have a car so I can go in charity shops which are more outside of the cities.

  8. love the seconhand shops because of the same argument which you pointed out in your note. That's great and magic world full of memories which textiles keeps between threads.

    1. Oh yeah, you can feel that clothes had a life before, some great vibes ! I prefer the typical strong smell of the old clothes rather than the synthetic smell of the new ones.

      Merci beaucoup ! ♥
