The Bat Poet.

"Once upon a time, there was a bat -
A little brown bat, the color of coffee with cream in it."

I really like bats. Unusual animal - a flying mammal ! - discrete, mysterious. A long time ago, there were bats living in my cellar. One night, while I was ready to go to bed, I've been surprised to see what I called a "huge butterfly" hanging from the ceiling. You're right; that was not a butterfly. I'm still wondering by which miraculous mechanism the bat could stand upside down. My father put it outside, and I had regrets. Somehow I wanted to see it closer, I wanted the bat to be my friend.
I was looking for an illustration book in the style of Kay Nielsen when I stumbled upon "The Bat-Poet". These three words were enough to draw my attention and incite to purchase the book. Bats and poetry, with, above all, wonderful illustrations : a pleasure to read and to see. And I don't care if it is meant for children; books for kids are filled with morals and truth.
